All items in the Wood Shop are made by my father when ordered. (That's him on the left.) He's semi-retired and likes to spend time making things in the garage. Besides the items below (butcher block cutting boards, desk clocks, wooden animals, etc.) he's also made various jewelry boxes, storages chests, coat racks, as well as the table and chairs in our kitchen. These items are made when you order them. They are not pre-made. Each is made with care to your specification and some extra time will be needed to complete your order. This can range anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. We will give you an estimate of the time needed when we confirm your order. If you have any questions, want to custom order a project, or would like a better estimate of how long a project will take, just drop us an email. |
Hard Wood Cutting Boards
| All of our butcher block cutting boards are made from maple, a hard wood that is arguably the best surface for food preparation. It's a tight grained, minimally porous wood that will not dull your knife-edge like plastic or glass cutting boards and will not splinter like softer woods.
There are three basic ways to construct a butcher block cutting board; end-grain, edge-grain, and flat-grain. End-grain boards (If you look down at a tree stump, you’re looking at end-grain) are the strongest and most durable, followed by edge-grain then flat-grain cutting boards.
A 4 oz. bottle of Cutting Board Oil is included with each board. Note: Due to their size and weight, most Cutting Boards will be shipped by UPS Ground. |

All of our wonderful clocks are carefully made and finished and use a precise quartz movement that run on standard batteries (either "AA" or "N" size).

Yarn Bobbins

Cutting Board Oil
| We use 100% mineral oil to treat all our cutting boards. Mineral oil can be found in most drug stores but as a convenience to you, we offer a 4 oz. bottle of the same oil we use. | ||
